On Sunday, March 29th, CnAHA had its annual event CnAHA/ACC in Orlando, FL. There were more than 40 cardiologists from US, China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong attended the meeting. Representatives from ACC, AHA and ASE also attended and gave speeches, including:
Dr. Linda Gillam, ACC Foundation and Ex-President of ASE, talked about taking responsibility and the importance of participating ACC activities in local chapters, especially woman and minorities.
Dr. Ge Shuping, President, CnAHA, talked about the past, present, and future of CnAHA, especially its role as the "community" for our members, colleagues and friends involved in cardiovascular science and medicine from US and China.
Dr. Gerard Martin, ACC Chair of ACHDPC, talked about his personal experience in Shanghai and the collaborative efforts between ACC and China in fighting congenital heart diseases in China.
Dr. Hu Dayi, President, CCCP, talked about the directions of Chinese Cardiology Societies. The emphasis of systemic approach and career development of young Chinese cardiologists.
Dr. Zhang Yun, Academician, and President of Chinese Association of Ultrasound in Medicine and Engineering, gave an update in cardiovascular research, i.e. basic, translational and clinical (trials) research in China.
