Dear CnAHA members, colleagues, and friends,
I want to report to you briefly on some highlights in CnAHA in July of 2009.
1.The CnAHA column in Chinese Medical Tribune (CMT) The CnAHA column in Chinese Medical Tribune (CMT)() has had its inaugural issue and (see attached). This issue included an introduction of CnAHA to the millions of CMT readers and an article in Percutaneous catheter intervention for congenital heart disease: An update in 2009.This is a great opportunity to connect with your colleagues in China.If you would like to contribute, please contact our Secretary Peng Yan at (pengyan@ameritech.net).
2.CnAHA Conference during AHA
We will have a CnAHA-AHA Conference with ACRE on November 16, 2009 (tentative) in Orlando, FL, thank to Dr. Jianming Li, VP of CnAHA for his tremendous efforts to secure the sponsorship by Boston Scientific.Please mark your calendar to prepare to meet the leaders of AHA, Chinese Society of Cardiology (CSC), industry, and more importantly, your colleagues, collaborators and friends of CnAHA.We believe this will be the best and most productive meeting ever!
3.CnAHA-Young Investigator Award
The AHA abstract results are available now.We are working with AHA to select the 3 most meritorious abstracts accepted by AHA as our annual Young Investigator Award winners.Please send your abstract, if accepted by AHA in 2009, to Dr. Jie Cheng at (jiecheng@att.net) as a candidate of CnAHA-YIA (First prize $500, second prize $300, and third prize $200 with a plaque).
4.Grants and publications

If I tell you that some of our members have serious interest and achievement in arts with publications in the New England Journal of Medicine, would you be surprised?Please take a look at the work by Dr. David His, MD, Chief of Cardiology in Rochester, NY (NEJM 355(July 2006);1:30 and 355(Nov 2006);22:2347).
6.Fund Raising and Donations
I want to thank Dr. Li Zhang, MD, Chair of EP Committee, CnAHA, for her generous contribution of $1,000 to CnAHA.Dr. Zhang is nationally and internationallyrenowned for her work in long QT syndrome and arrhythmogenicright ventricular cardiomyopathy and an enthusiastic supporter of our Association.We want to acknowledge Dr. Zhangs contribution to our Association and will use the funds wisely for our future initiatives that are vital for CnAHA.
