In this joint Newsletter from CnAHA and ACRE, we are excited to share with you a few highlights in both associations since we last updated you.
1. CnAHA-ACRE Joint Conference during AHA The preliminary program is as follows:
CnAHA-ACRE Conference Time: 6:00 to 9:00 pm on November 16, 2009 (Monday) Venue: Ming Court (9188 International Dr. Orlando, FL 32819-8112)
Program: Welcome Update on CnAHA Update on ACRE CnAHA Distinguished Service Award Young Investigator Award Guest Speakers: 1. Update on AHA: Dr. Clyde Yancy, MD, Incoming AHA President; 2. Update on AHA and CnAHA: Dr. Stephen Prudehome, VP of Global Strategy of AHA 3. Update on World Heart Federation: Sidney C Smith, MD, Chairman, Scientific Advisory Board of WHF 4. Update on CVD in China and GWICC: Dayi Hu, MD, President of Chinese Cardiology Society, and President, Great Wall International Congress of Cardiology Social events
We have reserved a total of 100 seats, and the dinner is complimentary. Please RSVP at members@cnaha.org as soon as possible to be sure you have a seat. We believe this will be the best and most productive meeting ever!
2. GWICC 2009 in Beijing The 20th Great Wall International Congress of Cardiology was held from 10/9-10/13/2009 in Beijing. Again, we co-sponsored 2 symposiums with GWICC and ASE in CV imaging and Evidence-based Cardiology. We are very happy to report that it was another year of success of these symposiums and other individual invited lectures. A special report by Chinese Medical Tribune for CnAHA participation is enclosed. We will start planning for next year soon and it is expected by GWICC leadership that we will play a bigger role in CV imaging and other Symposiums in 2010! So stay tuned!
3. CnAHA Members in the News Dr. Jian-Ming Li, MD, PhD, has published a book Ai Xin Qi Shi Lu in China. In this unique book, he incorporated his role as a scientist, cardiologist, and patient to provide heart to heart advice to the general public on how to prevent heart disease in the first place. The Preface was by Dr. Dayi Hu. He is on a book tour in Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing, etc . If you are interested in more information about the book, please contact Dr. Li at Jian-Ming.Li@med.va.gov.
